Abstract
Cadmium Oxide and Bi-doped Cadmium Oxide thin films were prepared using the chemical spray pyrolysis technique on glass substrates at 400°C with volumetric concentrations of 2% and 4%. The thickness of the films was approximately 400±20 nm. Transmittance and absorbance spectra were recorded in the wavelength range of 400-800 nm. The films exhibited direct optical transitions with energy gaps of 2.37 eV for CdO and 2.59, 2.62 eV for the 2% and 4% Bi-doped CdO films, respectively. Optical constants were evaluated both before and after doping.
