Abstract

This study evaluated the antifungal activity of a combination of essential oils extracted from Peppermint (Mentha piperita), Thyme (Thymus vulgaris), and Common Sage (Salvia officinalis L.) against water molds. Active compounds identified via HPLC included Camphor, Menthol, Thujone, and Thymol. The study measured the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC), Minimum Fungicidal Concentration (MFC), and LD50 after 48 and 96 hours of treatment on common carp fingerlings. Results showed significant differences in MIC and MFC compared to Malachite green, with lower effective concentrations for the essential oil mixture. The LD50 after 48, 96 hours was 34.51 ppm, with no significant differences in toxicity at varying time points.
