Abstract
Lead remediation was achieved using simple cost, effectiveand eco-friendly way from industrial wastewater. Phragmitesaustralis(P.a)(Iraqi plant), was used as anovelbiomaterialto remove lead ions from synthesizedwastewater. Different parameters which affectedon adsorption processeswere investigatedlike adsorbent dose, pH,contact time, andadsorbent particle size, to reach the optimized conditions(maximum adsorption). The adsorptionof Pb(П)on (P.a) involved fast and slow process as a mechanism steps according to obeytwo theoretical adsorptionisotherms; Langmuir and Freundlich. The thermos dynamicadsorptionparameterswereevaluated also. The (∆H) obtained positive value that meanesadsorption oflead ions was an endothermicprocesswhile (∆G)values werenegativewhich means that adsorption oflead ions wasa spontaneous processand the decrease in (∆G)with temperature increasing revealed thatlead ions adsorptionon (P.a) became favorablewith temperatureincreasing
