Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The frequent use of anti-infective agents against various pathogens leads to antimicrobial resistance, an urgent global public health threat that demands new strategies. Antimicrobial resistance kills at least 1.27 million people worldwide and was associated with nearly 5 million deaths in 2019, as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported. For instant, the broad-spectrum antibiotics, directed against conserved bacterial targets, led to the development of resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains. Likewise, antiviral treatments generate new resistant hepatitis C virus mutants. Similarly, the anti-fungus treatments generate resistant Candida albicans fungus strains. If antibiotics, antivirals, and antifungals lose their effectiveness, then we lose the ability to treat infections and control these public health threats. This special issue welcomes research articles, review articles, letters to the editor, and short communications that deal with the current advances in anti-infective strategies.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.bsj.uobaghdad.edu.iq by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Guidelines for Authors page.
Please visit the Guidelines for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Fees for publication in this open access journal is 150$ USD (United State Dollar). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English.
